Baton Rouge Gallery First Wednesday Opening for "Fine Lines"

Join the Baton Rouge Gallery for a special 'First Wednesday' Opening Reception for the final show of BRG's 50th anniversary year, "Fine Lines." The exhibition will feature the work of five Baton Rouge based artists with unique approaches to lines within their work. 

The artists featured in this exhibition are Rob Carpenter, Rosemary Goodell, Randell Henry, Kathleen Lemoine, and Steve Schmidt. 

The exhibition will be on display December 4 - 28, 2016. An ARTiculate Artist Talk will be held at 4pm on Sunday, December 11 where visitors will be treated to the stories and inspirations behind the works on exhibit, as told by the artists themselves.

White Light Night - Mid City Merchants

Experience Baton Rouge's Mid City Art and Design Cultural District for an evening of local art, food, wine and live music at this year's White Light Night! Meet local artists and craftsmen as you visit local businesses and restaurants along the Government Street Corridor (Jefferson Highway shopping centers to I-110). This year, Mid City Merchants will host the premier art festival on Friday, November 18th, from 6-10 p.m.

KINETICS - Premier Live Art Auction @ BRG

Baton Rouge Gallery's annual benefit fundraiser, KINETICS, returns with its fun and fast-paced live art auction on Friday, November 11 (7-11 p.m.). Located inside BREC's historic City Park (1515 Dalrymple Drive), the event celebrates the energy of contemporary art, specifically in Louisiana's capital city, providing a chance for every arts lover in town to share their passion for the visual arts while bidding on more than 30 original works from some of the region's most talented and prolific artists.

A portion of the proceeds from the event go directly to the local and regional artists that make up the gallery's artist member roster with the remaining funds going to support the gallery's facilitating of a dozen exhibitions annually and numerous well-attended cultural programs.

Surreal Salon -- Baton Rouge Gallery

This January, Baton Rouge Gallery – center for contemporary art will once again host its annual Surreal Salon exhibition beginning January 5 and through January 28. Now in its eighth iteration, the exhibition again highlights the growing quality and popularity of the pop-surrealist / lowbrow movement in American contemporary art.

 

This time around, more artists than ever before will be a part of Surreal Salon, with the work of 60 artists from 23 different states set to be exhibited. The exhibition will be open to the public with no admission charges during normal gallery hours (Tuesday – Sunday, 12 – 6 p.m.).
