The East Baton Rouge Parish Library will be showing "A Christmas Story" for free in the plaza at the Main Library! They will have chairs available inside and outside or you can bring your own lawn chairs and picnic blankets. Special guest, Scott Schwartz, who played Flick in the movie, will make an appearance.

Building Community One Porch at a Time
Join Mid City Studio this month on the front porch with Together Baton Rouge at 2019 Government Street! As always, the coffee is free courtesy of Cafeciteaux Coffee Roasters!
Coffee on the Porch engages the role of the porch as a forum for building community. In the casual atmosphere of the porch, there is no agenda and there are no requirements besides being yourself. Porches are places where we meet our neighbors, share stories, and pass traditions. Coffee on the Porch is a free, monthly community gathering held on the last Friday of the month on front porches throughout Mid City Baton Rouge.
Chef Scott Varnedoe presents STOKED Pizza at Radio Bar on Friday August 26th from 5 - midnight (or until supplies last). Handmade dough from Varnedeaux's Artisan Bakery topped with fresh ingredients and cooked on-site in a brick and wood-fired pizza oven. Don't miss out!

This Friday night, Bee Nice Music is hosting Kitchen Session of Baton Rouge, a group of musicians who play Celtic music in a kitchen setting similar to traditional gatherings in Ireland.
They will be followed by Jemini Venture, playing bluegrass, jazz, blues, roots and Americana. Their playlist includes songs ranging from standard bluegrass to classic rock in the acoustic style, from original songs to standards of jazz and folk, and from old time to new gospel, all done in their own unique styling.
There is never a cover charge but we do pass the hat a couple of times during the evening, with 100% of the proceeds going to the artists.
Capital Heights Neighborhood will be selling hot dogs and drinks.
