PARK(ING) DAY 2017
September 16th is Park(ing) Day in Baton Rouge. Join Mid City Studio this year at seven different pop-up parks in Mid City and Downtown. We are activating vacancy and creating community through unique green spaces.
This year you'll find pop-up parklets at these locations:
Slash Creative - 4556 Government St. - BUS STOP PARK
Capital Heights Pocket Park - 4553 Capital Heights Ave. - OUTDOOR COFFEE HOUSE
The Bee Nice House - 4205 Capital Heights Ave. - NEW SOUTH STORYLAB BOOK DRIVE
Bethel AME Church - 1358 South Blvd. - ARTS IN THE PARK
The Collective & The Pink Elephant - 2648-2698 Government St. - FOOD TRUCK PARK
STUN Design - 442 Government St. - POP-UP PARKLET
The Radio Bar - 3079 Government St. - PINTS & PLAY PARK
Park(ing) Day is a national event that encourages citizens and artists to re-imagine areas normally designated for public parking. On average, there are three parking spaces per car in metropolitan areas. What would happen if one of those parking spaces was turned into a community green space.
Each park will be activated with a wide range of activities for all to enjoy! Check back here regularly for updates and details.
